BBC Manchester Multiplatform Productions is at the heart of a diverse range of cross-platform projects at BBC Manchester.
Notable output includes the websites for Dragons’ Den, The Restaurant and Brainbox Challenge along with several up-and-coming high-profile productions. We are also involved with Liverpool 08 as part of the City of Culture celebrations. In the past, the team has won regional Royal Television Awards for DanceX, New Talent and the Virtual Replay service for BBC Sport.
The team consists of approximately twenty people, ranging from software engineers and developers to designers, content producers and a dedicated development team.
Our broad range of skills and experience ensures that we can create content in keeping with the BBC’s new web philosophy of ‘Find, Share, and Play’ – increasing innovation, user interaction and engagement whilst upholding the BBC’s production values across numerous platforms.
As the BBC gears up for its move to Salford in 2011, we are ideally placed to increase the profile of the new media sector in the North West.
BBC Manchester is supporting the MANCAT most promising student award, and will offer a one-month placement to the winner.
