"In 2006 it was identified that the current Auto Trader search engine was nearing its end of life. Consequently Auto Trader partnered with Endeca to implement a solution to satisfy Auto Trader’s position as ‘the no. 1 market place for motorists’. The combined Auto Trader and Endeca project team optimized the system which resulted in a 280% increase in performance and a response time of 100 milliseconds. The search engine delivered almost 60 million searches and 100 million vehicle adverts in January 2008. In addition the search engine significantly improved the users’ ability to navigate and evaluate available vehicles."
